In support of National Careers Week (2nd - 6th March) we would like to promote the Careers Advice services offered in school and the information and guidance that can be found on the school website.
As well as providing one-to-one interviews for students the Careers Advisors organise assemblies, presentations, workshops, events and trips to help students make informed choices about their future. A wealth of careers information is also available at www.ousedale.org.uk/careers (or see it under the LEARNING tab at the top of this page).
Careers Advisors are available at both campuses; students (and parents and staff on their behalf) can contact them directly or online via email. Careers Advisors will see students on a referral basis when a member of staff feels that a meeting would be beneficial. If parents wish to attend a meeting with their child they can do so and arrangements can be made via telephone or email.

‘The most important part of careers information, advice and guidance is to open up young people's understanding of opportunities and help to link this to their own personal aspirations’.
In honour of World Book Day on 5th March we have a whole week of exciting events planned in the library. There will be author visits, free books, book tokens, competitions and more.
Full details of all that is on offer to our students are available below.
As part of the consultation on proposals to amend its admissions criteria for September 2016 entry, Ousedale held an Information Evening for all interested parties and particularly parents served by the Olney and Newport Pagnell campus. Headteacher Sue Carbert and Chair of Governors Andrew Milburn led the evening and were delighted with the excellent turnout of parents in particular.
The evening sought to address the concerns that had been expressed by parents and to give them accurate information following some of the misleading reports circulating in the wider community. In response to the concerns raised, a revised proposal will be put by the Headteacher to the Governors and this was met with widespread parental approval. Feedback from those attending has been very positive, both at the end of the evening and by email to the school the following morning, mostly thanking the school for the information that was provided and for listening to parental views.
Thank you to all those who attended and have fed into the consultation process. The consultation finishes at the end of February at which time the Governors will look at all responses with the final admissions criteria published by 15th March 2015.
Olney campus - Wednesday 4th March: 4pm to 8pmNewport Pagnell campus - Thursday 5th March: 4pm to 8pm
Parents of Year 8 students are invited to come and discuss your child's progress this year. Students will need to make appointments with their teachers and may record the times in their student planner. So that everyone gets the opportunity to meet as many teachers as possible, each appointment will be for five minutes.
Letters have been sent home with students and we look forward to meeting with you.
