Miss. Karen Griffiths, Careers Education Information Advice & Guidance Manager
Miss Griffiths has been involved in careers and education for over 12 years, working with the local government and in post-graduate education. A qualified advisor with experience of delivering in schools and to post-16 students. Working on a variety of contracts with Job Centre Plus, European Social-Fund (in Apprenticeships) and the National Careers Service. An award winning advisor, who empowers students to take ownership of their career journey and be assertive in achieving their goals.
Mrs. Emily Fox-Johnson, Careers and Work Experience Officer, Newport Pagnell Campus
Mrs Fox-Johnson has also been involved in various aspects of education. She completed a degree in Modern Languages at Oxford University and an MA in Library and Information Studies. She has since worked in a variety of educational establishments, most notably in the Oxford Colleges Admissions Office, providing advice and guidance to students on university applications, and in the Library of the London School of Economics, assisting students with research and enquiries.
Olney Campus Careers Centre
The Olney Campus Careers officer is currently being recruited. Miss Griffiths is covering in Olney on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Careers can also assist and offer advice on:
- Cover letters
- Higher Education, Apprenticeships or job applications
- Interview techniques
- Looking for part-time work
Please note: Children under the age of 16 will be required to have a work permit which can be issued by Milton Keynes Council and the hours they are able to work are also outlined on their webpage. For more information click here.
The careers office is based in the library at both the Newport Pagnell and Olney site. Both offices are open every lunch time and staff are available to see students that call in and no appointment is necessary.
